You probably didn’t go looking for this on your own.
Somebody said you should talk to someone, so here you are, reading a therapist’s website.
You don’t really think this is a problem, and you have probably said so out loud already.
You also can’t name much that’s changed in the last year or two.

Frozen in life is the phrase I use for it.
Even when you do think there’s something to address, how?! Which part do you touch first, and in what order? Those are the answers nobody hands you.
Plenty of the people I see have tried two or three therapists and never quite jived with any of them. By then, more advice is the least useful thing anybody can offer.
I won’t hand you a plan for your life, either. You have a read on this already. You just don’t back it yet.
My job is to ask about it until you can hear yourself say it out loud. When it’s working, you’ll notice that before I do.
Sessions run on body awareness, thought challenging, coping strategies, and something to work on before the next one.
I’m a licensed professional counselor in Texas, trained in EMDR and in Somatic Experiencing, with a 200-hour psychotherapeutic yoga training underneath the body-awareness piece. My degrees came from The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Woman’s University.

People ask what makes this go faster. I would say it comes down to four things.
I said I wouldn’t tell you what to do, and I meant it. These are more what I’d ask of you.
Do something between sessions. Something to think about or work on before I see you again.
Be honest with yourself about what you’re trying to accomplish. Even when the honest answer is smaller than you expected.
Put some trust in yourself. You know what you need.
Know that I’m here to guide. That part is my job.
The change shows up small at first. You make a decision without running it past four people first.
Something that used to sit in your chest all week gets handled on a Tuesday.
And the person who told you to talk to somebody? You won’t need anybody to tell you next time.
You did the work, though.
Unconvinced is a perfectly good place to start from.
The consultation is free and runs twenty minutes. You can spend all twenty of them being skeptical at me.
I work online throughout Texas with adolescents and adults, so write to me at amber@plantedtobloomcounseling.org from wherever you are.
Planted to Bloom also works with anxiety, panic attacks, anger, life transitions, identity questions, multicultural relationship challenges, trauma, chronic pain, body image and eating disorders, so send a note even if yours isn’t on that list.
