About Planted to Bloom Counseling

About Planted to Bloom Counseling

We’re Hardwired for Connection

In nature, everything is linked. People included.

Then there’s the rest of it. A fast culture, a long list, and a phone that promises you can solve your own problem before dinner.

It gets easy to feel cut off from other people, and from yourself. We’re taught that needing no one is a kind of strength.

Most of the change we watch happen starts somewhere plainer. A person says out loud that they don’t have it together right now.

What Happens When Someone Finally Sees You

Being seen by a licensed counselor whose entire job is to pay attention does something that advice from a well-meaning friend can’t reach.

We want to be the beginning of the bridge. Somewhere you feel safe and seen, so that the rest of your people start to feel closer again too.

What we hear back from clients is about feeling seen. Seen as a whole person, and taken seriously for needing this at all.

Where You’ll Actually Be Sitting

It’s a few minutes before your session. You’re in your car, or your bedroom with the door shut, or the one corner of the house where nobody bothers you.

You log in through our portal and there we are. No waiting room. No drive home afterward while you’re still raw from it.

Fifty minutes, and then you close the laptop and you’re already home.

Nothing about that makes it a lighter version of the work. We’re both licensed in Texas, so where you live in the state doesn’t decide who you get to talk to.

Your Plan Gets Built Around Your Life

No two people arrive with the same story, so we don’t hand out the same plan. We take the time to learn yours first and build from there.

Some of that work is practical, the kind of tools you can use on a Tuesday. Some of it is slower, and it goes at the speed your body will actually allow.

Patience is genuinely our strong suit. When the hard part surfaces, we sit in it with you rather than steering you around it, and you’re never in there by yourself.

Real change doesn’t run on a schedule, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’d rather tell you that now than sell you a shortcut.

Meet the Two of Us

Planted to Bloom has two owners, and both of us still see clients. That was the point of building it this way.

Growth is not easy, and it’s hardly ever comfortable. We ask that of our clients, so we ask it of each other and hold each other through it.

Collaboration, community, and being our actual selves are what we run the practice on. Social media gets the tidy, put-together version of people, and our clients get the ordinary-day one.

“Better together” is the belief underneath all of it. Neither of us practices in a vacuum, so there’s always a second perspective available when the work calls for one.

The Training Behind Your Sessions

We’re both fully licensed in Texas, both EMDR trained, both Somatic Experiencing trained, and both of us have a yoga background behind the clinical training. Here’s where each of us started.

Amber Ambriz

University of Texas at Austin, majoring in psychology with a minor in communication studies, then a Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University with an emphasis in clinical mental health counseling.

Also trained in expressive arts, narrative storytelling, CBT, psychotherapeutic yoga, mindfulness and meditation, intuitive eating and hunger-cue work, plus a course in DBT for eating disorders.

Alana McCraw

Vassar College, double major in psychology and religion, then a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University with a concentration in mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling.

Those are the tools on the shelf. Which ones come off the shelf depends entirely on you.

You’ll Be the One Doing the Work

When clients thank us at the end of something hard, our answer is the same every time.

You did the work, though.

That’s the whole design. We make the room, ask the next question, and keep the conditions right.

What grows in there is yours. We want to understand your whole story, and the reason you first reached out is only where it starts.

Take the First 20 Minutes With Us

We said we want to be the beginning of the bridge. This is where that starts.

Twenty minutes on the phone, free, and you get to decide afterward whether we’re the right fit. Ask us anything you want in it.
